Hoping to make a viral
video by streaming a mysterious rope ritual, a couple falls into a deadly
curse instead that turns their lives upside down.
Here is a Taiwanese film about a teen girl who was bullied at school so
she decides to hang herself. The rope now has a curse on it and the bullies
who assaulted her are going to feel her vengeance.
Director Liao
is one of the new wave filmmakers, changing the face of Taiwan cinema.
After producing mostly knockoffs and roll-your-eyes fantasies, the country
is starting to change with state-of-the art movies like this. Liao graduated
from the Department of Radio and Television, NCCU. After finishing obligatory
military service, he joined Rice Film Co. Ltd. After three made-for-TV
movies, this is his first theatrical film.
