Words can barely
describe this surreal masterpiece from Sogo Ishii. At the core, it's the
story of Tomiko, a manager of a bus terminal, who falls in love with a
driver named Tatsuo Niitaka, even though she also suspects him of being
a serial killer who murdered other female managers after tiring of them.
Every frame of this film is beautiful to behold. Shot in stunning black
and white - to mimic the Japanese films of the 1950's, complete with the
fashions of those days - it draws the viewer into it's fantasy, dreamlike
world. This is the essence of cinema from a genre master.
