BAD MEAT (2010/2012) A Guilty Pleasure of Epic Scale

Seldom
does a monstrosity like this come along...!
director:
Rob Schmidt and Lulu Jarmen
starring: Dave Franco · Tahj Mowry · Elisabeth Harnois ·
Mark Pellegrino
Competent
actors (James Franco's younger brother Dave, Mark Pellegrino from "Dexter,"
an A-List stunt woman Jessica Parker Kennedy, and two Disney alumni Elisabeth
Harnois and Tahj Mowry), a hot director (Rob Schmidt from the WRONG
TURN franchise) in a total mess of a movie. Seemingly, the project ran
out of money after a couple weeks of filming. Insiders say the producers
were so horrified by what they saw that they refused to relinquish anymore
funds. A few years passed and a new production company invested in the
movie but many of the original performers were no longer available (probably
not interested in further involvement as their own careers had blossomed
far beyond the exploitative elements of this endeavor). Someone hiding
behind the 'Lulu Jarme' moniker is credited as the new director. With
a bit of spit-n-polish the piecemeal project was completed (sort of, anyway)
and released.
It is
called Bad Meat. Its existence is a rarity of mammoth proportions
and a cause for celebration among cult movie fans. The story - as it plays
in this "finished" form - deals with happenings at a Discipline
Camp in the wilderness. Parents have sent their unruly kids to this place
for a bit of 'Scared Straight' and these young people get more than anybody
bargained for. The place is staffed with Nazis, sadistic wrestlers and
a she-devil dominitrix. Obviously, these are unacceptable credentials
for camp councilors. But it's made even worse when the cook accidentally
feeds them spoiled meat. For some reason, this tainted food turns the
staff into crazed flesheaters in pursuit of the juvies. It's all incredibly
disgusting (endless vomiting and floods of gross bodily misfunctions)
not to mention REALLY mean-spirited and unbelievably
ugly plot points. Be forewarned, this film is for acquired tastes only.
No pun intended.
