This movie was made
in 2006, a first effort by Jonathan Levine (who has since gone on to make
a variety of mainstream projects including the zombie romantic comedy
WARM BODIES among others). Back in '06, MANDY LANE was wildly popular
at many international cult film festivals and scheduled to be released
in America through Harvey Weinstein's Company. At the last minute, he
got cold feet (probably due to the extreme subject matter) and sold the
film to Senator Entertainment. That company went out of business before
the movie could get released. Various edits of the film have surfaced
over the past couple years, but now Anchor Bay has unleashed the fully
uncut 92 minute version.
A group of high-schoolers
invite Mandy Lane, a good girl who became quite hot over the summer, to
a weekend party on a secluded ranch. As the sun goes down and the party
rages on, the festivities take a disturbing turn. And for lovely Mandy
Lane, a night of endless horror has just begun.
