"Fighter
in the Wind" is the Korean-produced epic adventure about Choi Bae-dal
[1922-1994], a legendary hero who (according to lore) fought 47 bulls
plus scores of human challengers before going on to defeat legions of
karate experts in Japan. The plot is based largely on a famous series
by writer Bang Hak-ki. It vividly tells the story of Choi, a much-admired
fighter, and the development of his new martial arts technique called
"Kyokushin Karate." ·Actor Yang Dong-Guen was dedicated
to "Total fight realism" and spent years preparing for this
role. He did all the astonishing fight scenes himself, without the aid
of special effects or a stuntman.
