This Italian/Spanish coproduction from workhorse director Giusseppe Vari tells the story of a cruel and ruthless Mexican bandit named Manguja who is searching for a lost treasure. But he's not alone in the quest. Bounty hunter John Blood is actually the first to find the gold (hidden in the altar of a church). Then, after donating the fortune to the monastery, he kills Manguja in a showdown and collects the reward.

Anthony Ghidra had a great look for the Spaghetti Western but he made very few films in Europe. He preferred working in his home country (the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) where he was born Dragomir Bojanic-Gidra in Kragujevac, Serbia, Yugoslavia. Acting under a variety of similar pseudonyms (ranging from Dragan Bojanic to Gidra Bojanic to Dragomir 'Gidra' Bojanic), he starred in 120+ films between 1955-1993 and enjoyed a long marriage to Serbian actress Ljiljana Kontic. Mr Ghidra died in November 1993 in Belgrade, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He was 60 years old.
