Imagine
the love-child of Sergio Leone and Mel Brooks midwived by Almodovar and
you get this film by Spanish bad-bay Alex de la Iglesia.
Ten-year-old
Carlos has run away from home to find his grandfather in the deserts of
Spain (where all the Spaghetti Westerns of the '60s were shot). Back in
the day, Grandpa Julian was the stunt double for Clint Eastwood but today
he heads a run-down tourist park populated by washed-up 'supporting characters'
who can't give up the spotlight. When the western town is sold to a real
estate mogul the gunslinging heroes decide to stage one last shoot-out,
this time for real.
