starring: Screamin' Jay Hawkins · Jim Jarmusch · Eric
Burdon · Bo Diddley
The legendary
Screamin' Jay Hawkins was a great influence on many musicians; his performances
were original and provocative. Even today - five decades after his 1955
Okeh album - Screamin' Jay is still considered revolutionary.
This
motion picture contains some original Hawkins "voodoo" footage
but it's essentially a chronicle of Screamin' Jay's very last concerts
in Thessaloniki and Athens Greece before his sudden death in Paris in
2000. There is also additional commentary by industry luminaries from
Bo Diddley to Eric Burdon.
