Director
Eros Puglielli burst on the Euro scene with EYES
OF CRYSTAL in 2004 and international critics were exuberant in
their enthusiasm, calling him "the undeniable successor to Dario
Argento." With his second release, AD PROJECT,
the same critics are notoriously quiet. While it's true that this film
is considerably different from his previous thriller, Puglielli delivers
the same visual impact is here. The story, however, is a unquestionably
more eccentric.
Constructed
like a Giallo, this is actually a horrific Alien abduction tale. It opens
with Elena tailing her boyfriend. She has reason to believe he's having
an affair, so she follows him to a remote, abandoned factory. There's
no mistress waiting for him, rather, there's a sinister being who threatens
the man and tortures him with a supernatural forcefield. Elena has no
idea that she has crossed into a space where time dimensions cease to
exist. She passes out, remembering nothing. Elena seeks help from a psychologist
who uses hypnosis to unlock the mind. It's a slow process and has consequences...
