Trevor has no memory of his past but he is constantly haunted by nightmares. Then one day, he awakens from a coma and finds himself under the care of eccentric Dr Ek who informs him that he's been committed to a sanitarium after the sacrificial murder of his fiancee. Trevor notices that other inmates are disappearing and then, one night, he "sees" his dead fiancee. Is he really a murderer or is Trevor suffering from a horrible fantasy implanted in his brain·
