Laura
and Carlos love each other as if every day were the last. And perhaps
that intense love is the very thing that will tear them apart a year
later. Here is a grim yet inevitable story of absolute devotion between
a young girl and boy who bravely experiment with their sexuality but
begin to regret it. Pure love is fragile. And life soon gets
in the way. School, friends and basic curiosity begin to tarnish that
which [moments ago] seemed so pure, strong and indissoluble.
As
the title suggests, this is a film about love and, more specifically,
about trying to figure out what it really is and - of course - what
it is not. At the center of Crespo's story is Innocence (or perhaps,
naiveté), the time when all young people are vulnerable and nothing
can keep them away from [nor protect them from] love.
This
is the first feature film for director Esteban Crespo García,
from Madrid Spain.
