Legendary Drug-culture Film written by Michael Crichton

director: Paul Williams
starring: Barbara Hershey · Robert F Lyons · Charles Durning · Joy Bang · John Lithgow · Anitra Walsh

A campus drug dealer (debut for John Lithgow, above left) sends a Harvard law student named Peter to San Francisco to smuggle a shipment of marijuana back to Boston. While he's in San Francisco, Peter meets and falls in love with hippie girl Susan. After returning to Boston, Peter convinces his dealer to have Susan bring the next shipment, so he can see her again. Enroute, the girl gets busted by a corrupt cop (the late Charles Durning), who sells the shipment to some Cuban dealers. Peter and John decide to steal it back but find themselves in big trouble when they realize they've also snatched $100,000 in heroin from the Latinos.

This motion picture is based on an early novel written by Michael Crichton (as Michael Douglas) who later found wagonloads of money with his books Westworld, Andromedia Strain and Jurassic Park. In 1986. Mr Crichton believed he had become possessed by the devil and underwent a Vatican-approved exorcism. After the ceremony, he got married for the fourth time (to Anne-Marie Martin, a marriage which would also end in divorce 12 years later) and contracted with Steven Spielberg for Jurassic Park motion picture [plus sequels]. He died from cancer in November 2008 at age 66.
