This is NOT a feel-good G-Rated music romp. Rather, here is a drug-infused, lurid, mean-spirited venture into the dark netherworld of Rock-n-Roll. The unabashed, gritty narrative probably accounts for its obscurity today. However, in retrospect, this Eric Burdon vehicle is more poignant than most any other music-oriented film from the period.

Eric Burdon plays Rocco, a drugged-out rock singer - with a potentially dangerous attraction for female fans - who has achieved a plethoric level of success but is hopelessly in debt to his record label and manager. A series of tragic events [the suicide of a groupie, a cocaine bust, the deterioration of his marriage, an on-sage brawl with his manager] leads to him going on the lam to Berlin where he attempts to launch a comeback. The record company executives have other ideas for Rocco... he can make more money for them dead than alive.
