This
Weekend, Bella has Decided to Take Out a Few Men
from the director of DEATH WISH
director: Michael
Winner
starring: Lia Williams · David McCallum · Rufus Sewell
· Sylvia Syms · Ian Richardson
This
is the story of Bella, a young woman who woke us one morning and realized
she'd had enough. All it took was one rather nasty man to transform
her from a meek secretary into a 'Death Wish' femme fatale. This is
her story of one weekend, renewed sexual freedom and... seven brutal
killings.
Banned
for years in England (where is was shot) and never released in the United
States, this controversial film is based on the novel by Helen Zahavi.
However, it is more similar to the DEATH
WISH films, with a female in the Charles Bronson role. Interestingly,
it is directed by Michael Winner who also made the first three 'Death
Wish' movies. As it turns out, DIRTY WEEKEND
would be his final project. Mr Winner died at age 77 in January 2013
after a bout with the Vibro Vulnificus virus.
Of
side note: Michael Winner worked as the editor on this and other
films under the pseudonym Arnold Crust. Beside directing 42 movies,
Mr Winner also was a restaurant critic for London's Sunday Times.
