Unofficial (and unrelated) sequel to Ken Russell's trashy art film "Whore" 1991 which had starred Theresa Russell as a street prostitute in Los Angeles. This one - directed by documentary filmmaker Amos Kollek - mixes fictionalized vignettes with footage of real hookers in a story of a freelance writer named Jack who accepts an assignment which takes him into the sexual underground. When Jack becomes friendly with sweet-natured Mary Lou he tries to keep his professional distance but also wants to protect her from a brutish pimp. The ugliness of the dirty streets eventually compromise the integrity of Jack's project.

Most of the actresses in this film are real hookers or strippers which adds to the believability of the production. An exception is Mari Nelson who plays Mary Lou with remarkable conviction. Today, Ms Nelson lives in Washington where she has played lead in various stage productions at the Seattle Repertory Theater since 2011, including Sam Hunter's "Great Wilderness."
