The international
critics have called this "the Scandinavian TWIN PEAKS," and
that's not far from the truth. Director Julsrud has created a fascinating,
thought-provoking, controversial story about a big-city detective attempting
to solve a murder and rape in a backwoods mountain village. However, unlike
David Lynch's PEAKS, the film doesn't veer into a farfetched supernatural
conclusion, but - rather - forces the audience to confront a dark seed
germinating in its very soul. This spellbinding thriller follows officer
Nicholas Ramm (Sorensen) as he investigates the rape and murder of a very
young mentally-retarded girl. The story also revolves around the relationship
between Ramm and a 12-year-old brother of a suspect. As the film reaches
its climax, when the true crime is becoming clear, Ramm is forced to confront
his own obsessions; is his situation any different· Any better·
