Christophe Lamot (as Chris Doctor)
starring: Chris Lamot · Jacques Verbist · Aldo Palucci · Sylvie Seddio
· Jean-Maurice Knockaert
This
project from director Chris Lamot was screened
for the first time at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival
in 2013, resulting in much of the audience scrambling for the exit doors.
However, International film critic Nik Yann called it "Excellent"
and wrote "I'm lucky I have had the opportunity to see this movie
at the BIFF and must say it's an excellent debut. It is loaded with 'made
in Belgium' humor and reveal a dark, wild side. Since the inception
of horror cinema, this is the first time I have seen someone killing people
with a vacuum cleaner. If you appreciate sick surprises you'll be happy."
While an argument could be made that other productions have used a vacuum
cleaner as a murder weapon [i.e., the Hong Kong splatter masterpiece
DREAM
HOME plus an episode on Tales from the Darkside
called Hush come to mind], this is probably the first time that
a person has become a vacuum killer.
The story deals with Chris Burst, a young laboratory assistant, who loses
his arm in an explosion while attempting to bring his recently deceased
mother back to life. Chris finds shelter in the house of a drug dealer
after going there for pain meds. While high, he grafts a vacuum cleaner
to his mangled arm and runs a suction hose from his back [see above pic,
right]. There are also moments of Russian roulette, a TV game show called
KILLING IS WINNING, a perverted priest and long
killing sprees.
