Mexican/Spanish title MASACRE EN EL RIO TULA [Fully Uncut]
director: Ismael Rodriguez Jr.
starring Cuitlahuac (Cui) Rodriguez · Hugo Stiglitz ·
Roxana Chavez · Narciso Busquets · Abril Campillo

This is one of
the sleaziest films to slither out of Mexico [perhaps, THE
sleaziest, eclipsed only by DAMNED
RAPIST]. Here is the debut movie from Ismael Rodriguez Jr -
son of respected filmmaker Ismael Rodriguez - that pushes the limits
of exploitation cinema to the breaking point during Mexico's "limited
period of artist freedom" in the mid-'80s [before the Catholic
Church forced the government to re-establish censorship laws].
The disturbing
dark elements of the plot are not watered down. Rather, the audience
is smacked in the face with gritty realism, unabashed nudity, graphic
violence, and exploitive schlock. At the center of the story is an honest
[but occasionally rebellious] taxi driver who naively cuts edges to
skirt around the law. But soon, Victor is wedged in a dangerous position,
with life-and-death consequences, when he finds himself gridlocked between
very corrupt police officials and vicious gangsters. The film revels
in its overtly nihilistic tone. But the ending crescendos into an even
more jaw-dropping conclusion.
