This is a Mexican documentary about the religious cult known as Nuestra Senora de la Santa Muerte (Our Lady of the Holy Death). It began in the Sinaloa Prison and soon spread throughout the country [and into parts of the United States and Central America]. The focal point of this religion is a goddess figure - not unlike the Virgin Mary - who has become a folklore heroine of the poor and criminal element, especially the drug traffickers. She offers prosperity, good health, safe passage and protection from violent death.

Besides the Mexican documentary, there is a bonus feature included. It is a 15 minute overview of Saint Death from an Australian TV Network broadcast in 2019.
