An Effective Haunted House Giallo from Leopoldo Savona

Original Italian Title: LA MORTE SCENDE LEGGERA [Death Decends Quietly]
also known as SUNDAY IN NEON LIGHTS

director: Leopoldo Savona
starring: Stelio Candelli Patrizia Viotti Veronika Korosec Rossella Bergamonti Tom Felleghy

A drug dealer named Giorgio returns from an out-of-town trip to find his wife brutally murdered. Given the circumstances, he doesn't call the cops but [regardless of the early hour] immediately goes to see his attorney. His lawyer - also dirty in the drug trafficking business - realizes that it's not in anybody's best interest for Giorgio to get arrested so he advises him to hide away in a nearby, abandoned hotel. Giorgio heads there - stopping only long enough to pick up his young mistress Liz - and then the two hold up in the place waiting for further instructions.. Immediately, strange things begin to happen which would indicate the hotel is both haunted and dangerous.

Director Leopoldo Savona was a filmmaker in the late-'60s/early-'70s, responsible for 20+ motion pictures during that time, half of which were Spaghetti Westerns (produced under the alias Leo Coleman). His most successful was the Anthony Stephen film APOCALYPSE JOE. Mr Savona made this film and BYLETH DEMON OF INCEST just before retiring in 1972. He died in 2000 at age 78. .
