Directed
by Duccio Tessari (a solid filmmaker responsible for many Spaghetti Westerns
including those in the RINGO
series) and written by genre kingpin Ernesto Gastaldi (the scripter for
125+ films, from TORSO
to ALL
THE COLORS OF THE DARK), this film is a remarkably good addition
to the Italian thriller genre. It begins in London, where - after a near
fatal traffic accident - an amnesia victim is abducted and beaten by a
stranger. When a sniper's bullet kills the attacker, 'Peter' flees the
country to Portofino Italy (with tickets provided mysteriously by a wife
he didn't know he had). Soon, both he and his wife Sara fall victim
to many attempts on their lives. The whole thing culminates in a chainsaw
fight [see beautiful Senta Berger brandishing the weapon, right] and some
surprising twists-n-turns which eventually provide answers.
