Shot in tandem with his equally sleazy NIGHTMARE, director Romano Scavolini used many of the same NYC locations for this very lurid actioner which highlights torture, rape and murder. An American photographer named Adam unwittingly brings footage of gruesome torture by the Greek military junta into the USA along with proof of American CIA involvement. He's hotly pursued by vicious henchmen who aren't concerned about leaving a trail of brutal murders in their wake.

Director Scavolini never avoided excess in his movies, often costing him wider distribution. This film is a perfect example: the opening scene features a fully nude man, strapped to a cross, tortured with a large tube forced into his penis. Scavolini is best known for his gory psycho-slasher NIGHTMARE. But he got his start writing Spaghetti Westerns (including JOHNNY YUMA in 1966) and a bizarre thriller in '72 called SPIRITS OF DEATH. Mr Scavolini is still active today; His productions have become mainstream as he is now involved in Italian television.
