Dad
works at a pharmaceutical company. He becomes suspicious of certain
improprieties and so his superiors arrange for him to meet the bumper
of an automobile. Meanwhile, the blood of Dracula has been smuggled
out of Transylvania and is being secretly stored at the Tokyo hospital.
Inadvertently, when dad is rushed to the clinic... yep, he gets the
vampire's blood during a transfusion. The attempt to save his life fails.
A woman scientist tracks down the grieving daughter and informs her
that if she is a virgin, a few drops of her blood on dad's ashes will
revive him. Luckily for everyone involved, she is a virgin and she can
follow directions. The father returns, totally unaware that he's been
dead for an entire year. At first, red rebels against his new state
of being. However, his vampire nature take hold and soon it's vengeance
time in Tokyo.
Director
Kaneko offers new twists on the exhausted genre. He initially started
in Pink Films [Sex Movies] and - in the early '90s - made made this
film and, later, Gamera, Guardian of the Universe (1995). After
helming GODZILLA:
GIANT MONSTERS ATTACK (2001), Mr Kaneko wrote and directed Japan's
very popular cult DEATH
