director: Giulio
Petroni (as Jeremy Scott)
starring: Marisa Mell · Lou Castel · Chris Avram ·
Laura Trotter · Paola Maiolini · Javier Escriva
Imagine...
take the 'Rosemary Baby' theme, add considerably more sex and
then combine it with a serial killer subplot, the result would be this
motion picture. Director Giulio Petroni was so embarrassed by the end
result, he refused to put his name on it. Instead Mr Petroni signed
the film as Jeremy Scott, admitting ownership of the pseudonym just
before his death in 2010. Giulio Petroni (who never used an alias for
any of his other projects) made almost exclusively Spaghetti Westerns
throughout his career; he is best known for the hit DEATH
RIDES A HORSE. Mr Petroni died in January 2010 from natural
causes at age 92.
Marisa
Mell (born Marles Moitzi in Austria) was married briefly to Henry Tucci
in the early '60s. Over the years, she was romantically linked to Alain
Delon, Warren Beatty, Robert Evans, Roman Polanski, Jess Franco and
the Shah of Iran. She made 75+ films in the 30 years between 1960-90,
but was dangerously addicted to cocaine, often resulting in legal problems.
Miss Mell died from throat cancer at the early age of 53 in May 1992.
American
tourist Amanda meets a wealthy Italian nobleman named Andrea Orsomandi.
Their whirlwind romance results in a marriage proposal and the couple
visiting his secluded gothic mansion in the country. However, Amanda is
immediately uncomfortable with the place, believing it to be sinister
and evil. She soon discovers that Andrea is involved in black magic. She
doesn't realize that her husband-to-be (with the aid of the gardener)
is also capturing and killing prostitutes, seemingly to - somehow - exorcise
the Evil in the house. Before long, Amanda falls under the dark forces
and nothing can stop the demonic cycle.
An
Italian film with English subtitles; widescreen format, totally uncut
version (90 min.), DVD encoded for ALL REGION NTSC, playable on any American
