In 2007, the year of his death, Bruno Mattei focused his camera on the horror/zombie genre, the subject matter that originally established his career with HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD (1980) and ZOMBI 3 (1988). He directed ISLAND OF THE LIVING DEAD in conjunction with this film, the sequel. A third movie was planned to complete his trilogy but - sadly - a brain tumor cut that expectation short.

Shot in the Philippines with his Italian crew, here is Maestro Mattei's Zombi Swan Song. The story opens as Dr. Sharon Dimao (again played by Yvette Yzon) is rescued from her raft floating in the ocean since the conclusion of ISLAND and hoisted into a helicopter. No sooner than she recuperates, Dr Sharon is convinced by the Tyler Corporation to go back to the island. Once there, she and the mercenaries find themselves in the middle of another massive zombie assault. This all accelerates into an eccentric plot twist [even eccentric by Mattei standards] involving aliens and bizarre birthing devices. This is prime Bruno territory; don't miss it.
