This
HK film is directed by Hollywood icon Keanu Reeves and it stars Tiger
Chen, the martial arts actor from various HK movies including HOUSE OF FURY; Chen also worked as Reeves' stunt man in the
"Matrix" films.
Here
he plays a gifted student of Tai Chi, a martial arts style which emphasizes
morality, defensive moves and utter calmness. Soon, however, Tiger finds
that he must compromise his values when his temple risks foreclosure.
A sinister gangster named Mark Donaka offers him quick cash in exchange
for involvement in a championship bout to the death. The further Tiger
progresses in the matches, the more he finds himself attracted to the
fast pace and nihilistic violence, turning his back on the teachings on
Tai Chi.
