Here
is the first installment in the classic Japanese vampire saga. A concerned
woman named Keiko is searching for her missing brother. The investigation
takes her to his fiancee's home, a mysterious mansion where she learns
that her brother is dead and his girlfriend has left. But Keiko is suspicious.
She and her boyfriend decide to stay the night. As it turns out, Yuko
is a vampire, the victim of an odd survival pact between her mother
and the devil. And she has her eyes (and fangs) set on Keiko and her
boyfriend.

This is best of the series. Vet cinematographer Rokuro Nishigaki's unique
sense of design and symmetry elevates this movie beyond the genre; and
director Yamamoto's brisk style adds a true element of fright. A coffin
arrives by truck and is dropped off at a country station. Soon various
locals begin acting peculiarly. Vampirism is suspected. Meanwhile, Akiko
is having recurrent dreams of a childhood incident involving an old castle
and a vampire. She discovers the castle is close to her home and she goes
to investigate...

This one is a homage to Hammer's LUST FOR A VAMPIRE. The
principal of a rural girls-school and his wife are descendants in a
long line of vampires. The school is their hunting ground. Things get
uncomfortable when a new teacher arrives and becomes suspicious of their
behavior.
