The first entry is a classic, the first important martial arts horror film, expertly realized by one of the genre's greatest talents, Sammo Hung. In this one, Chang and his friends conduct a seance. It works and the group conjure up some monsters. Chang's unfaithful wife is so impressed by the occurrence that she decides to use black magic to kill her husband. Before long, every ghost and zombie in the vicinity is chasing poor Chang in a wild frenzy for his head.

The second film, directed ten years later, isn't really a sequel at all. Rather, this is the story of a transient named Po who tries to help a little girl ghost become a real person before her senile mother discovers that her daughter is dead
