One
of two great genre films this year from prolific director Herman Yau (who
also made BLACK
MAGIC in early 2007). This is the gritty, lurid, crime story focusing
on hitman Ah Chat, one of numerous assassins hired by the Mafia to eliminate
members of a failed alliance. During a botched hit, Ah Chat is fingered
as a sniper and goes on the lam to Taiwan where he hides out with another
gangster faction known as 'the Devil Clan." Allegiances soon becomes
strained and this compromised killer finds himself in a deadly squeeze.
