Winner of
multiple awards (form Cannes to Toronto Film Festivals) plus China's Asian
Best Picture, this film is comprised of three short stories: Time For
Love, Time For Freedom and Time For Youth. The first tale ("Love"),
set in 1966, deals with an ex-soldier searching for his former girlfriend;
next is the story of a young student in 1911 who becomes enamored with
a courtesan; and in the third entry, a female singer has trouble choosing
between lovers in contemporary Taiwan.
A Chinese
import; widescreen (1.85:1), uncut (136 min.) version in DVD encoded
for ALL REGIONS, playable on any American DVD machine; in Chinese language
with removable English or Chinese subtitles as an option.
