Shaw Bros classic is generally considered the film that started the worldwide
interest in kung fu. Certainly, it was the genre's first major box office
hit in the USA before the Bruce Lee movies. A budding young master must
face the challenge of his training and his foes. Chao Chi Hao (Lo Lieh)
is told by his master that if he works and improves his fighting technique,
he will be permitted to marry the master's daughter. But when Chi Hao
enters a tournament representing his school, a rival school - bent on
winning at all costs - sends some Japanese dirty fighters to give them
the winning edge. Will Chi Hao, with his hands now smashed, be able to
finish the tournament· Of course he will... but what will be left of the
bad guys·
