A kinetic
road-trip movie about a gangster, Samehada ("Shark Skin"), who steals
some big bucks from his Yakuza boss and goes on the lam. Soon, Samehada
meets a girl called Momojiri ("Peach Hip", or "Peach Ass" if you prefer)
fleeing from a sexually abusive, vengeful uncle. The two misfits join
forces to help each other escape their deadly shadows. What follows is
a wild chase that leads the audience into a comical, yet ultra-violent
world.
Director Katsuhito Ishii is fast becoming the new cult fave of Japan with
the release of this film and the more
recent PARTY 7.
